Step 5: Create and Send a Job Request (Managers)

Fill out a Job Request and send it to your regular Service Providers (as well as new ones from the Marketplace, if you'd like!)

You've started a Job Request, now it's time to create and send it! For this example, we'll start the Job Request from the "Contacts" section. However, you can start a request from whatever section you'd like; every section's "Send Job Request" button opens the exact same Job Request form.

  • If you send a job request from the "Calendar" or "Properties" section, the Property field of the request form will auto-populate with the property you chose.

  • If you send a request from your "Contacts," the Service Provider field will auto-populate.

  • If you send a request from the "Checklist Library," the Task/Checklist field will auto-populate.

  1. Select your Service Provider’s profile from the “Contacts” section.

  2. Click the “Send Job Request” button in the top right corner.

  3. Select the Job Type (“Cleaning,” “Maintenance,” “Inspection,” or “Key Handoff”) and assign a Job Title (ex. “July 7th Turnover Service.”)

Click “Next” to continue.

4. Select the property associated with this job.

Click “Next” to continue.

5. Review the “Property Details” and make sure you’ve included all the necessary information about:

  • Accessing the property

  • Garbage

  • Parking

  • Wifi

  • Any other necessary information your Service Provider needs to know about the property.

Click “Next” to continue.

6. You can choose to include a set of tasks for your Service Provider to complete –known as a “Checklist”–– for this job.

You can send multiple checklists at once.

  • For example, you can send Properly’s “Peace of Mind Checklist” in addition to one of your custom checklists (ex.“Simon’s Additional Instructions.”)

  • Your Service Provider will receive both checklists for the job, and the job will not be considered done until both checklists are complete.

You can also open the “Add Extra Task” tab if you’d like your cleaner to take on an additional task for this job (ex. picking up supplies or leaving a note for the guest.)

Click “Next” to continue.

7. Open the "Checklist Library" to include any other checklists in the job.

Click “Next” to continue.

8. Set a time for this job.

  • If you need the job done on a specific date:

    • Click the “Fixed Time” button and set the date, time, and job duration.

  • If there’s a flexible timeline for the job:

    • Click the “Flexible Time” button and assign “Start After” and “Finish Before” dates and times as well as the job duration.

Click “Next” to continue.

9. Select the Service Provider(s) to whom you’d like to send the Job Request.

  • You’ll see two types of Service Providers here: those you’ve used before (“Your Service Providers”) and those you haven’t (“Community Service Providers.”)

TIP: Send your request to multiple Service Providers at once for the quickest response. When one accepts the job, the others will receive a notification that the job is no longer available.

Q: I’m a host, so why am I listed as a Service Provider, too?

A: Some hosts prefer to complete certain services themselves, or they may need to jump in as a replacement for their usual Service Provider in an emergency. This way, you can send your cleaner account jobs.

10. If you’d like, you can enter the price you're offering for this job.

TIP: You don’t need to enter a price, but it usually increases the response rate.

Click “Next” to continue.

11. Write up a description of the job, or a message for your Service Provider (or both!)

TIP: While a job description isn’t typically necessary, it can be a convenient way to send your cleaner additional details about the job (ex. It’s an early check-in, so there’s no flexibility about the job’s end time.)

12. Once you’ve entered all of the relevant job information, click the “Send Job Request” button at the bottom of the “Job Summary” menu.
